Dear Students,
Have you ever tried to copy a child’s drawing? Here in the Image Lab, this is one of the things we do in order to try on another way of being in the world. Another way of holding a marker, of moving it on the paper at a different pace, and most of all it’s another way of seeing what is really there
The children’s drawings were collected during one of our Saturday Science Drawing Jams for Kids at the Image Lab located in the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery building on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus.
What might happen if you tried copying a series of children’s drawings? Maybe something very good!
Do you think it’s worth it to find out?
Sincerely,
Prof. Hebdo.
What a beautiful exercise that reveals how much potential art has for helping us better understand the world.
